Conservation Mind supports projects across tropical forests, marine ecosystems, and small-scale fisheries, helping local NGOs and scientists analyze spatial patterns and visualize environmental change using satellite and field data.
Project Description
We are seeking a volunteer GIS Specialist to assist our technical team in conducting spatial analysis, visualization, and mapping for ongoing conservation projects.
This position offers practical experience in remote sensing, habitat mapping, and environmental monitoring using open data and GIS platforms. Volunteers will gain exposure to real datasets from forests, coral reefs, and terrestrial ecosystems, contributing directly to conservation outcomes.
Profile
Background in geography, environmental science, or GIS/remote sensing.
Experience using ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or Google Earth Engine.
Understanding of raster/vector data handling and spatial analysis.
Basic programming in Python or R is a plus.
Detail-oriented, organized, and motivated by conservation impact.
